Viola sagittata
    Arrow leaf violet

Arrow leaf violet blooms in the the spring in acid black sand locations. The individual pictured is quite unusual in that it has white hairs on its lateral petals: plants often are widely variable in the wild.

This plant may be found in mesic prairie or in open savanna as well as wetlands.
